Chopper

Our Friend Wayne Reiche sent us this awesome pic of an unidentified man and his crazy chopper/bmx/mtb.

Back in the long ago, my Friend's brother took a Rock Shox jett fork and did the same to his bmx. It had the worst handling of any bike I've ever ridden, the top tube felt super short, and the steering was so slow, you had to pick it up and turn it to go around corners. Trying to jump that thing on our little tabletop felt like suicide.

This thing probably feels much the same, but maybe he likes the thrill.

Check out Wayne's blog at http://www.albmodnar.blogspot.com/ He's got some awesome photos of South African bmxers and musicians doing their thing.

scraps

We saw these two kids while we were riding at the Hout Bay skatepark. The dude on the right told us that he had built both of the bikes out of random bits and pieces that he'd found lying around, and stuff that had been given to him. He did an especially good job on his bike which is an old nishiki MTB frame with bmx and cruiser bits on it.

This is a pic of our bikes on the mini-ramp taken the day before (Not very exciting).

Mag wheels 'n no suspension

Racy...

Stealthy...

Man I wish I still had my old Trek tr10 with the yellow mags and tyre-sealant.

Curbrider

I'd much rather have this:

Than these

Same idea, but much cheaper, and better looking.

Curbriders are possibly the gayest BMX-related invention ever.

Censored

The mini-thug on the right wasn't too happy about us taking photo's of him. So I censored his face right out of this picture. The other kids were pretty cool though.

Chicago bars + 2 pegs on the front = umm.. I don't actually know.

First [seat] post

So.. The point of this blog is to post up the random photos myself and Billy Deathmetal take while out riding our BMX's.

There are a bunch of really ghetto BMX's in Cape Town, and loads of them have lay-back seatposts and
chicago'd bars. The kids end up pretty stretched out on their bikes - hence the name Ghetto stretch.
